Chenango Bird Club meeting and forest presentation at Rogers Environmental Center Wednesday

SHERBURNE — The Chenango Bird Club Meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 11, at Rogers Environmental Center located at 2721 NY80 in Sherburne.

Following the meeting will be a presentation on forests by Victor Lamoureux, a Biology Professor at SUNY Broome.

"We start off our meetings asking if any newcomers are amongst us and then we check to see if anyone spent any money, which we rarely do," said Chenango Bird Club President John Knapp. "And then we discuss whatever we have upcoming over the course of the next couple of months."

Knapp said shortly after the business part of the meeting, about 6:45 p.m., Lamoureux will give his presentation on the forest, highlighting Forest's past, present and future, current problems and what the future forest may look like.

"Lamoureux will read from two books ‘Forest Forensics' and 'Reading the Forested Landscape', written by American Terrestrial Ecologist and Professor Tom Wessels," he added. "Lamoureux  is a fantastic presenter and went to school on this subject. He will give a great presentation on this."
