OXFORD — Chenango County Habitat for Humanity (CCHH) will be hosting their annual yard sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 12 and Friday, September 13, as well as from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 14 on Route 12 in Oxford, next to the Mirabito Gas Station.
There will be a variety of items available for sale, including adult and children’s clothing, a crib and mattress, books, holiday items, a heater, small appliances, games, two sewing machines, golf clubs, toys, jewelry, fabric, jelly jars, antique lamps, crafts, miniature animal figurines, shoes and boots, tables, chairs, and much more, all provided by donations from individuals and organizations.
"People really enjoy coming to the sales, and our volunteers really enjoy it. They find it’s fun, enjoyable, and [they enjoy] the connection with people," said CCHH Promotional Development Committee Chairperson Audrey Johnson. "Last year we had around 60 volunteers, so I anticipate we’re going to have a large number."

Proceeds from the fundraiser go toward supporting CCHH with ongoing home renovation and repair projects.
"We run two programs: we run house construction/ownership, and then for people who have repair issues with their property, we’ll finance the materials and, depending on their income level, they either pay us back for the materials at no interest charge. Or, if their income level is low enough, we have a grant program that will provide up to $5,000 worth of materials for them," said CCHH Board and Construction Committee Member Tom Murray.

The organization recently wrapped up repairs on a home in Oxford and a full home renovation in Norwich. Johnson said they're currently working on repairs to a home in Smithville Flats, and recently acquired a house in New Berlin, and plan to begin renovation in the near future.
Chenango County Habitat for Humanity is part of a global nonprofit housing organization that aims to support individuals with affordable housing by constructing, rehabilitating, and preserving homes; advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.
