Man arrested for stabbing after confrontation on Norwich street

NORWICH – The City of Norwich Police Department responded to an emergency 911 call about a stabbing at about 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11.


Police Chief Reuben J. Roach said officers and members of the Norwich Fire Department quickly arrived at the scene on Rexford Street and located a victim who had stab wounds to his neck and forearm.


Jason R. Chase, 40, of Marathon, is charged with second degree assault, a felony, and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.


The victim was transported to UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition.
