NORWICH – The Norwich Purple Tornado girls’ swim team hosted Waverly for its 2024 home opener on Tuesday evening. This meet followed Norwich’s 2-0 start in dual meets from wins against Greene and Sus Valley as well as competing in the Wolverine Invitational.

Norwich fell to Waverly 96-32, but continued to show improvement. Nina Kman led the Purple Tornado with two first place finishes. She swam in the 200 yard freestyle with a top time of 2:04.44. Teammate Alexandra Shtrauch came in second in the same event. Kman also finished first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:40.47. Shtrauch placed third in the 100 yard butterfly (1:26.17).
