Girls Soccer: UV comes from behind to defeat Unatego in overtime

NEW BERLIN – It was an exciting game at Unadilla Valley high school on Monday afternoon between the Storm and the Unatego girls’ soccer teams. Unatego came into Monday’s matchup still unbeaten on the season and thought they had a secure 2-0 lead going into the second half. However, UV proved them wrong and answered back with three goals in the second half to send the game to overtime, where they won 4-3.

After being down 2-0 at halftime, the Storm powered up with two goals from Gracie Gorrell, off one assist from Noelle Fernandez-Naughton, and one goal by Myriah Taylor. Unatego tied the game to force overtime.

The Storm defense stood their ground, which gave Natalya Schrag the opportunity to score the game-winner in the second half of overtime.
