NORWICH — The Chenango Arts Council will be hosting their biannual gala fundraiser at 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 23 at the Canasawacta Country Club, located at 261 County Road 44, Norwich.
"This year our theme is Bowties and Diamonds, so you’ll see a lot of black and white and sparkles. You do not need to necessarily dress in bowties and diamonds, or formal wear. It’s just for fun, but not a requirement," explained Gala Committee Chairperson Megan McKown. "It is just such a great kickoff to the holiday season, because it's right before Thanksgiving, everybody’s in that festive mood, and it really is just a great time of year for this kind of event. A great time to dress up and have a night out."
Tickets are $85 per person, and can be purchased at ChenangoArts.org/bow-ties-and-diamonds-gala.html or by calling 607-336-2787. It's recommended to buy tickets soon, before they run out.
The evening will include a cocktail hour, a full dinner and dessert buffet, a live performance by Brothers and Friends, a popular band out of Binghamton, and a live painting done by Chenango County artist Ryan Warner. Once completed, the painting will be available for auction at the event.
Guests can also purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a 50/50 raffle, a bucket of booze, or enter to win gift baskets and items.
McKown said this year they will have gift certificates for rounds of golf, YMCA memberships, tickets and parking passes to the Christmas Day football game between the Steelers and Chiefs, photography mini sessions, interior design consultations, jewelry, pottery, a load of crusher run from Burrell's, and much more.
Proceeds from the event go toward supporting the Chenango Arts Council and their programs. Those who would like to support the organization even further can do so by purchasing sponsorship packages.
The first tier of sponsorship is the Silver Sponsorship for $250. This tier includes two tickets to the gala, two raffle tickets for the bucket of booze, and recognition in the gala program as well as the Chenango Arts Council performance programs throughout the year.
"The Silver Sponsorship has been popular because you get two tickets with that, but your name is also included as a sponsor and special partner with the Arts Council in the program for the gala and also in the performance program. So any performance that is at the Arts Council, the program that we hand out, you’re listed there as a supporting sponsor if you do that Silver ticket," McKown explained. "So for $80 more you get a little bit of recognition for your level of support, and you also get the two raffle tickets for the bucket of booze with that."
Gold Sponsorship is $500 and includes two tickets to the gala, the sponsor name displayed on the Chenango Arts Council Recognition Board, recognition in the gala and performance programs, two raffle tickets for the bucket of booze, and two individual tickets to Arts Council shows.
Platinum Sponsorship is $1,000 and includes four tickets to the gala, the sponsor name displayed on the Chenango Arts Council Recognition Board, recognition in the gala and performance programs, two raffle tickets for the bucket of booze, and four individual tickets to Arts Council shows.
Lastly, the Diamond Sponsorship tier is $1,500 and includes eight tickets to the gala, the sponsor name and logo displayed on gala ads and the Chenango Arts Council Recognition Board, recognition in the gala and performance programs, two raffle tickets for the bucket of booze, two tickets for the 50/50 raffle, and two Chenango Arts Council performance season tickets.
There are still sponsorship spaces available, and they can be purchased at ChenangoArts.org/bow-ties-and-diamonds-gala.html.
McKown encourages area residents to dress up and enjoy a night of drinks, dinner, dancing, and supporting the arts.
"It’s a really festive, fun night for a great cause with great supporters in the community," she said. "One thing I always do hear is, 'it just really got me in the mood for the holidays,' and 'it’s always just such a special event,' and it is."
