ALBANY – Cannabis will get its own table at local farmers' markets and approved events under a new law that expands opportunities for microbusinesses and dispensaries.

The law, signed last week by NY Gov. Kathy Hochul, allows licensed cannabis microbusinesses to sell their products at cannabis showcase events (CSEs) and set up shop at approved pop-ups, farmers’ markets, and public market events across New York State.

Supporters say the measure will help bolster the state’s regulated cannabis market, which has become one of New York’s fastest-growing industries.

In a statement, Hochul said the new law presents licensed microbusinesses and dispensaries an opportunity to connect with other businesses and deal directly with consumers, giving them a “real chance to succeed.”

“By opening the door for legal operators to sell at approved community events and farmers’ markets, we are putting small entrepreneurs on a level playing field, expanding consumer access to safer, regulated products, and strengthening one of New York’s fastest-growing industries,” said Hochul.
