UV/GMU XC hosts MAC Championship

NEW BERLIN – The Unadilla Valley/GMU Cross Country teams hosted the 2024 MAC Championship on Wednesday, featuring Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton/Harpursville. Delhi-South Kortright won both the boys and girls MAC titles while BGAH boys and girls took second place.
BGAH
Boys:
The BGAH boys were led by Owen Degan with a fourth place finish behind three male runners from Delhi-South Kortight. Degan ran a time of 18:50. Thomas Joyce and Rowan Beasinger tied each other with a 15th place finish as both teammates finished with a time of 21:07. Aiden Quick earned a 21st place finish with a time of 22:24 as Connor Rowe came in 26th place with a new personal best time of 23:13, and Christian Campbell (36th) rounded out the BGAH male runners.
Girls:
BGAH had nine strong ladies representing them in the league championship. Freshman Maddie Ingham led the BGAH girls with a second place finish, where she finished with a time of 21:18, behind Delhi-South Kortright’s 20:41. Lelaenia Baldwin finished in eighth place with Jalyn Winans in ninth and Vanessa Brazee in 10th place. Baldwin achieved a new personal best time of 22:34. Laila Williams came away with a 14th place finish with a time of 24:53 while Ruth Wilson took 18th (26:36) with Marissa Mayo a few spots behind in 20th place (26:57). Loegan Barnard finished 27th with a time of 29 minutes exactly, which is the senior’s new personal best time. Amber Kolb capped off the scoring with a 30th place finish with a time of 36:38.
