Norwich girls swim hosts Oneonta

NORWICH – The Norwich Purple Tornado girls swim team hosted Oneonta on Tuesday night, honoring its two seniors; Nina Kman and Meghan Funk prior to the first event. Oneonta came away with the 101-60 win.

Kman won both the 100 and 200 freestyle events, where she achieved a new personal best time of 57.31 seconds in the 100 freestyle. Mikayla Sastri took third as Brynn Meek finished fifth in the same 100 yard event. Kaelyn Conant finished fourth in the 200 freestyle. Conant also swam to a third place finish in the butterfly.

Meghan Funk took second in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:24.65, behind Oneonta’s 1:16.56. Funk also swam in the 50 yard freestyle, finishing second to Sastri. Raeley Patterson earned two new personal bests in both the breaststroke and 50 yard. She finished fourth in the breaststroke with a new best time of 1:50.13 while she swam a new best 38.04 seconds in the 50 yard freestyle for sixth place.
