WATKINS GLEN — The Greene Trojans girls swim team competed in the Section IV championships over the weekend. Greene swam in the Class C championships held at Watkins Glen High School, where they took eighth.

The Greene Trojans were represented by Savannah Nowalk in the finals. Nowalk came away with two 13th place finishes in her prominent events of the 50 yard freestyle and in the 100 yard freestyle. She earned a new best time of 1:06.86 in the 100 yard freestyle.

Alexis Clark, Corrine Dicenzo, Louise Mendolia, and Keeli Roe did well in the preliminaries. Clark finished 17th in the 500 freestyle and took 22nd in the 50 yard freestyle. Dicenzo earned a new best time of 42.53 seconds in the 500 freestyle and also achieved a new best time of 1:51.86 in the 100 yard backstroke. Mendolia competed in both the 100 and 500 yard freestyle events, where she picked up a new best time of 1:51.55 in the 100 yard.
