Oxford girls fall short to South Kortright in Morris tournament championship

MORRIS – Over the weekend, the Oxford Blackhawks girls basketball team played in the Joan Martin Holiday tournament at Morris High School. They defeated Edmeston/Morris in a close 38-33 contest to advance to the championship on Saturday. Oxford fell 38-34 to South Kortright/Andes.

Paige Rickard led Oxford with 12 points, including making 4-of-6 free-throws. Overall, Oxford were 13-of-18 at the line. Aubrey Rickard and Margaret Rovente both scored five points as Taegan Manwarren, Abby Denz, and Emily Holbert all contributed with four points.
