Norwich girls drop to Waverly in Valley tournament championship
SAYRE, PA – After getting back on track with a big win against Sayre on Thursday, the Norwich Purple Tornado girls basketball team faced Waverly in the Valley Christmas tournament championship game on Saturday. Norwich suffered a 50-32 loss.
Norwich was held to single-digit scoring throughout the contest as the Wolverines stayed consistent. Waverly led 23-14 at halftime and continued to keep a steady pace into the second half.
Brynley Ryan led the Purple Tornado with 11 points, hitting two three's as Emma Urgo went 4-for-4 at the free-throw line and finished with 10 points. Josey Ryan hit two threes for seven points as Alivia Burrell and Kerragan Reid both finished with two points.
Norwich will face Waverly again on January 29th at home at 7:15 p.m.
