Greene girls come away with win over Delhi

DELHI – The Greene Trojans girls basketball team traveled to Delhi on Friday night, coming home with a 32-27 victory. Greene continues to lead the MAC with a 4-0 league record and are 9-1 overall.
The close affair showed physicality on both sides with Delhi showing strength defensively, which gave Greene a tough time in the first half. Greene was down 14-11 at the break before picking up the pace on offense and still playing a physical defense. With their amped up offense, the Trojans were able to set themselves apart and came out on top to close it out.
Abby Yahner led the Trojans with 16 points and 13 rebounds, staying consistent throughout the contest and scored eight of the team’s 10 points in the fourth quarter. Mia Yahner and Josie Dutcher both added six points as Cali Knapp and Claire Flanagan were both held to just two points.
Greene (9-1) hosts Oxford for senior night on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
