New Berlin Police respond to rollover accident

NEW BERLIN - A single-vehicle rollover accident near Highway 8 and the Unadilla Valley Central School bus garage on Tuesday resulted in personal injuries, according to the New Berlin Police Department.
Police, fire and ambulance crews responded to the scene, finding a heavily damaged pickup truck that had veered off the roadway, collided with a Frontier ground utility station, and rolled onto its side. The vehicle, a 2010 Toyota Tundra, sustained significant damage and the airbags deployed.
The New Berlin PD reported an investigation revealed that the vehicle was driven by Justin M. Townsend, 36, of New Berlin, who was traveling northbound at an excessive speed before losing control and leaving the roadway.
Police said Townsend was the sole occupant and was treated for injuries at the scene by New Berlin EMS and transported by ambulance to Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown for further treatment. Police issued traffic tickets in connection with the incident.
