B-G boys back on track with close win vs Whitney Point

BAINBRIDGE – After falling to both tough opponents Chenango Valley and Delhi, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats boys basketball team snapped their two-game skid with a 55-46 victory over non-league opponent Whitney Point. The Bobcats improve to 8-5 on the season and sit in fifth place in the MAC with a 3-2 league record.

The Eagles stayed up with B-G in the first half with B-G leading 37-24 at halftime. B-G kept up the pace after the break, but slowed down in the fourth quarter, allowing Whitney Point to attempt a comeback that fell short.

Michael Lipani led the Bobcats with 16 points with two threes and went four-for-four at the free-throw line. His four free-throws came in the fourth quarter, along with a basket from Tim Kinter. Kinter finished with 14 points, where he went six-for-six at the line.

Cyrus Megale hit three three-pointers for nine points as Colin Dailey and Aidan Haynes both hit two for six points. Dominick Johnson and Jaedan Walling both scored two points in the win.
