SHERBURNE – Coming off two exciting wins, the Sherburne-Earlville Timberwolves girls basketball team hosted Mount Markham for senior night. Congratulations to Claire Barth, Alyse Brown, Ashley Peila, and Abbie Eldred.
S-E trailed 18-7 at halftime before Mount Markham added on to start the third quarter. However, S-E made adjustments and improved significantly to even take a brief 35-33 lead with five minutes left.
The Mustangs got back in control to come away with the 42-39 win.
S-E freshman Morgan Mikalunas led the team with 11 points with two threes, three rebounds, and three steals. Kendall Hill added eight points as Claire Barth had five points, three rebound, three steals, and even two blocks.
Alyse Brown also finished with five points and added four rebounds while Peyton Darragh chipped in four points and had a team-high six rebounds. Abbie Eldred, Emma Webb, and Cora Franklin all contributed with two points each.
S-E (4-14) has two regular season road games remaining, where they will be at Canastota on Friday and Herkimer on Tuesday. Both games will start around 7 p.m.
