OV boys fall short to Mater Dei Academy

SOUTH OTSELIC – The Otselic Valley Vikings boys basketball team hosted non-league opponent Mater Dei Academy on Wednesday night, where they fell short 59-54. Despite some hard, close losses, the Vikings have been playing even basketball this season and their 8-8 record reflects on that.

Both teams played consistently throughout the contest with the Saints holding on to a slight edge. It was a six-point game entering the fourth quarter, but the Vikings could not make the complete comeback.

OV had three top scorers post double-digits with Lukas Schieferstein and Owen Davis matching with 16 points each along with three rebounds. Payne Wood dropped 11 points and had five rebounds.

Caleb Loomis added five points, six assists, six steals, and five rebounds. Ryley Palmer had three points while Tommy Kenyon scored two points.
