Afton boys fall short to GMU

AFTON – The Afton Crimson Knights boys basketball team hosted GMU for their final home game of the 2024-25 season. The Crimson Knights came up short in a 53-50 deficit.

Afton was shorthanded in this non-league contest but still put up a fight to the finish, only to fall short by three. Both teams were hot in three-point shooting as GMU posted a total of 10 three-pointers on the night and Afton with seven threes.

GMU was led by Noah Pain with 20 points with three threes. Kyle Keuhn dropped 14 points with four threes and two free throws. Anthony Westford and Peyton Behnke both added six points as Koda Stockdale chipped in five points. Darren Ruiz finished with two points.

Afton’s Ryan Wright led the team with 21 points, going off with three threes and had 10 points in the fourth quarter. Sam Mancuso followed with 10 points with two threes as Cooper Warren added nine points, Toni Obeada had eight and Max Cable with two points.
