S-E swimmers at Sectionals; relays and McCracken advance to State quals

SYRACUSE – The Sherburne-Earlville Timberwolves swim team traveled to Nottingham High School on Wednesday for the Section III, Class B/C Championship, where sophomore Parker McCracken and both the 200 and 400 free relay teams advanced to the State Qualifiers. Also, many S-E swimmers set personal bests as well.

The 200 free relay team came in sixth place with McCracken, Ava Flanagan, Isaac Larchar, and Lydia Larchar while Amelia Furlong, Amelia Casscles, Ava Flanagan, and Collin Maguire took fifth in the 400 relay.

McCracken earned a fifth place finish in Class C for the breaststroke with a new personal best 1:10.53, which advances him to the State Qualifiers. He also finished sixth in the 100 freestyle.

Collin Maguire set two new personal bests in both the 50 and 100 freestyle events. He swam a new best 26.36 seconds in the 50 for seventh place while he swam a new 1:01 in the 100.

Amelia Casscles achieved a new personal best in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:26 as Ava Flanagan came away with a new best 2:17 in the 200 free and Amelia Furlong with a new 7:03 in the 500.
