UV boys top Harpursville in final game of season

HARPURSVILLE – After defeating Afton the night before, the Unadilla Valley Storm boys’ basketball team traveled to Harpursville in the next round of the MAC playoffs. UV came away with a 70-61 victory to end the 2024-25 season.

The key takeaway from this contest was that UV outscored Harpursville 21-3 before halftime before both teams kept a strong pace in the second half. The Hornets tried to make a late comeback with 27 points in the final eight minutes but UV continued to stay strong offensively.

After Haywood Edwards posted 30 points in the game against Afton, Declan Potter excelled with a team-high 28 points against the Hornets with four threes. Haywood Edwards did have a great final game as well with 20 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

Denzel Peter added 10 points as Preston York grabbed six rebounds and finished with four points.

Braden Golliver also finished with four points as Zac Harris and Peyton Stevens contributed with two points each in the win. Golliver also added five blocks and six rebounds.
