GREENE – On Saturday afternoon, the Greene Trojans softball team hosted non-league opponent Charlotte Valley in the 2025 season opener. Both teams battled to force extra innings with the Wildcats scoring two runs in the top of the eighth inning to defeat Greene 5-4.

The Wildcats jumped to a 2-0 lead before Greene answered back in the bottom of the second as Abby Yahner, who started the inning off with a single to right field, came in to score on a hard hit ball from Deirdre Colgan.

The score would remain 2-1 Charlotte Valley until the Wildcats added an additional run in the top of the fifth.
