Norwich Rotary Club and Our Daily Bread Food Pantry announce funding to aid community

NORWICH — Our Daily Bread Food Pantry and Norwich Rotary Club are working together to feed local residents by organizing funds for the food pantry.
A Rotary Community Grant in the amount of $1,500 was provided to support meals over the next few months. The grant is supplemented further by an additional $500 from the Norwich Rotary Club and $1000 from Our Daily Bread Food Pantry with overall project funding totaling $3,000.
“We are thrilled to be working with Norwich Rotary Club to support ongoing operations at the food pantry,” said Our Daily Bread Food Pantry Coordinator Barbara Tompkins. “Right now, that funding is so important.”
Our Daily Bread Food Pantry is located at 37 West Main Street, in the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, in Norwich. They provide milk and nutritious food to qualifying households in Norwich, North Norwich, Plymouth and South Plymouth.
Rotary Club President Catrina McKissick said, “The Rotary Community grant and other funds are being used to purchase everyday essential items for the food pantry, such as canned fruits and vegetables, cereal, soup and cheese, as well as hygiene items. The project is scheduled to run until the end of June.”
