Greene softball comes away with win in high-scoring affair against Sidney

SIDNEY – After picking up their first win of the season against Oxford on Monday, the Greene Trojans softball team earned their second win on the road against Sidney on Thursday with a 21-13 victory. Both teams battled in the competitive high-scoring affair.

Sidney took an early 1-0 lead before Greene exploded with 10 runs in the third inning, batting around the lineup. The Trojans added five more runs in the fourth, four in the sixth, and two final runs in the seventh.

Abby Yahner went yard again for the Trojans, this time with a grand slam and led the team with three hits and seven RBIs. She had a single, a double, and a home run, a triple shy of a cycle.
