Harpursville/Afton drops to unbeaten Deposit-Hancock in MAC championship rematch

HANCOCK – The Harpursville/Afton Crimson Hornets baseball team traveled to Hancock to take on Deposit-Hancock on Tuesday afternoon. For the players representing Afton, it was a MAC Championship rematch from 2024. Deposit-Hancock, who shares the lead of the MAC with Unatego/Franklin, stayed unbeaten with a 14-4 win against the Crimson Hornets.

The Eagles took an early 3-0 lead while Harpursville/Afton cut the deficit to one with a two-run second inning.

Matt Carman led the inning off with a single to right field on an 0-2 count, stole second and third before scoring on an RBI single by Davin Warren. The other run came on an error.

The Eagles added on to their shortened lead with five runs in the bottom half of the second and scored six more runs in the fourth.
