Unadilla Valley School Student wins Town Seal contest

NEW BERLIN — Recently, New Berlin council members and the town clerk discussed creating a town seal and provided the opportunity for local high school students to compete in the design.


Contest rules required Town of New Berlin wording, pictures of places that represent the town and could include South New Berlin area, Amberville and Holmesville.


Many Unadilla Valley High School students entered the contest. Their designs were judged by New Berlin council members and on May 12, during their board meeting, the winner was announced and awarded.


Eleventh grade student Lillian Phillips won the competition and was awarded a certificate, gift card, and the first copy of the Town Seal.
