Norwich Post 189 drops to Oneonta Green Wave

ONEONTA – The Norwich Post 189 Legion team traveled to Oneonta High School to face the Green Wave on Wednesday night. After dropping the first game of the three-game series at home on June 20, Norwich showed some offensive spark on the road, plating six runs. However, it wasn’t enough to overcome Oneonta’s strong bats, as Norwich fell by a final score of 18-6.

Oneonta got on the board early with a run on a groundout RBI before Norwich took a brief 4-1 lead in the second.

Zac Turner walked to start the inning as Braden Reid singled to third. Collin Olds reached on an error to load the bases with no outs. Kassen Stubb drove in a run on a hard hit ball to the shortstop. Michael Brunick followed with a hard ball to the pitcher to bring in Reid.

After two outs and the bases still loaded, Kolbey Redenback drew a walk to bring in a run before Stubb scored on a wild pitch before the final out.
