SHERBURNE - The nation and local area marked the anniversary of the September 11 attacks on Thursday.

A 14-foot Twin Towers memorial at the Lok-N-Logs facility on Route 12 in Sherburne, was originally unveiled in 2021, and was made to stand as a reminder of the lives lost. The display was introduced during the 20th anniversary and paired with a fundraising effort benefiting Tunnels to Towers, a national nonprofit supporting first responder families.

Nearby, Buckley’s Excavating and Landscaping, on the other side of Route 12 as you enter the village, featured a two story American flag suspended between two raised dump trucks.
