AFTON — After defeating Worcester on Thursday night, the Afton Crimson Knights girls’ basketball team returned to action on Saturday for the Afton tip-off tournament championship game. Afton faced Sharon Springs, who defeated Rockland. The Crimson Knights fell 50-37 to finish runner-up.

Both teams were up tempo in the first half with Sharon Springs taking a 32-25 lead at the break.

The second half was more of a slow pace in the third quarter with both teams held to three points by good defense. However, Sharon Springs amped up play in the final eight minutes, where Afton was still limited.
