Chenango County D.A. presents felony cases involving child sex crimes, injuring a police officer, robbery, and burglary

CHENANGO COUNTY - A Chenango County grand jury has handed down multiple felony indictments involving cases relating to child sex crimes, injuring a police officer, robbery, and burglary.
The Chenango County District Attorney’s Office recently presented several cases to a grand jury who charged several defendants with alleged crimes spanning several communities including Norwich, Sherburne, Guilford, Oxford and New Berlin.
Richard L. Clemons was indicted on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges tied to alleged sex crimes involving a young child. The indictment includes two counts of second-degree rape (class D felonies), multiple counts of third-degree promoting a sexual performance by a child (class D felonies), multiple counts of third-degree possessing a sexual performance by a child (class E felonies), tampering with physical evidence (class E felony), forcible touching (class A misdemeanor), and second-degree sexual abuse (class A misdemeanor).
Prosecutors allege the conduct occurred in the City of Norwich in mid-to-late October, with allegations centered at a Hickok Avenue address.
Brian B. Currie was indicted on second-degree burglary (class C felony), third-degree assault (class A misdemeanor), and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child (class A misdemeanors).
Prosecutors allege that on or about July 30 in the Town of Guilford, Currie unlawfully entered a dwelling on Cooper School House Road with intent to commit a crime, assaulted an individual, and acted in a manner likely to be injurious to children present during the alleged break-in.
