Oxford boys' come up short against Morris in Clement tournament
MORRIS—The Oxford Blackhawks boys' basketball team traveled to Morris High School to compete in the Ray Clement Holiday Classic tournament. In the second time in three games, the Blackhawks faced off against Morris.
Oxford defeated Morris in the Deposit-Hancock tournament, but fell short to Morris 65-56.
Even though Morris held the lead throughout the contest, Oxford still stayed up tempo and tried to make a comeback.
Gordon Smith led the Blackhawks with 14 points, including two three-pointers.
Nic Dodzweit finished with 12 points as Kayden Renfrow had eight and Bennett Paden with six points.
Degan Endress added four points and Luke Bennett with three points in the last quarter.
Oxford (3-2) will face the loser of the game between Charlotte Valley and Laurens on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
