O-G baseball holds on vs Sidney at Mirabito Stadium
BINGHAMTON—The Oxford-Greene baseball team took on Sidney at the Binghamton Rumble Ponies Mirabito Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
Oxford-Greene came away with a 4-3 victory even with the Sabers fighting back in the top of the seventh inning.
O-G took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first and Sidney cut the lead to one with a run in the top of the second.
O-G answered back with a two-run bottom of the second, which helped them secure the victory overall as Sidney scored two in their final at-bats as O-G was able to limit the damage.
Jackson Roth had a hit as Blake Barrows drove in a run.
Nic Dodzweit also had a hit, along with Aiden Carter (double) and Trent Drew. Eddie Ingraham and Cooper Flanagan walked twice and Kiefer Evans reached base on two hits by pitches and stole two bases.
Cooper Davis pitched five strong innings for O-G, allowing one run on five hits, three walks, and struck out six batters.
Blake Barrows worked two innings, allowing two earned runs on two hits, and three walks.
O-G (2-2) faces Binghamton at Conlon Field on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
