B-G baseball holds on vs Delhi

BAINBRIDGE—Coming directly off a win at home against Walton/Downsville on Monday, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats baseball team hosted Delhi on Tuesday afternoon.

B-G held on to a 2-1 victory despite only having one hit by Connor Davy in the win.

Delhi took an early 1-0 lead in the first before B-G tied the game in the bottom of the second inning on an error.

Brayden Swartwout had a ground-out RBI to put the Bobcats up 2-1 in the bottom of the third inning, which ended up being the game-winner.

Parker Buttice reached base twice on a hit by pitch and a walk as Anthony Cafasso, Mason Acquisto, Davis Barnard, Micah Casey, and Isaiah Hampton each drew walks as well in the win.

Acquisto worked six strong innings, allowing the one run on three hits, a walk, and struck out eight batters.

Anthony Cafasso earned the save as he pitched a scoreless seventh inning, allowing just a walk and struck out two batters.

B-G (6-2) hosts Harpursville/Afton on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
