NORWICH – Golfers of all skill levels are invited to sharpen their swing and safeguard their season during ‘Improve Your Swing, Protect Your Game,” the second installment of UHS Chenango Memorial’s new sports medicine series.

The event will take place at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, at Canasawcta Country Club, 261 County Road 44 in Norwich.

“This program is really designed to help golfers reduce their risk of shoulder and elbow injuries while improving their overall performance on the course,” explained Allison O’Neill, PT of UHS Therapies Norwich. “Participants will gain practical strategies they can immediately apply to their game.”

O’Neill, the manager of physical therapies and rehabilitation at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital, will be presenting in conjunction with Dr. Keith Cordischi.

Cordischi, who joined the hospital’s medical staff in January, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist with two decades of experience caring for patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. Throughout his career, Cordischi has focused on the diagnosis and treatment of shoulder and knee conditions, with expertise in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, and joint reconstruction.

According to O’Neill, the program will start in the Green Room and then, weather permitting, proceed to the driving range, where Canasawacta’s Golf Pro, P.J. Brunick, will offer expert swing insights and on-range demonstrations to reinforce the concepts discussed.
