B-G softball stays hot with win over Sidney
SIDNEY— The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball team is on a roll! The Bobcats won their fourth straight game with a 7-4 victory over Sidney. B-G is now 6-3 on the season and 5-1 in the MAC to be second to Deposit-Hancock in the standings.
B-G went up 2-0 in the top of the first as Brenna George drew a walk and advanced to second on Breanna Casey’s infield single. Both ladies stole a base during Alessandra Cafasso’s at-bat and stole another with George coming in to score during Jayslin Henderson’s at-bat. Kaylin Furgason brought home Casey on a two-out RBI infield single.
The Sabers tied it up at two in the bottom of the second before B-G dished out a five run third inning and held Sidney to two runs to secure the victory.
B-G scored seven runs on 11 hits with Furgason leading the way with four hits and two RBIs.
Henderson (double) and Casey both had two hits and an RBI as Madisyn Peck finished with a hit and RBI.
Alessandra Cafasso got the win on the mound, going five strong innings, allowing three earned runs on five hits, and struck out four batters.
Hope Blackman finished the game in relief, allowing one earned run on four hits, a walk, and had one strikeout.
B-G (6-3) hosts Greene this afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
