BG baseball falls to D/H

BAINBRIDGE—The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats baseball team played in back-to-back games to start the week with a win against UV on Monday, but fell 5-2 on Tuesday against Deposit-Hancock.

B-G snapped its five-game win streak in the loss but remain strong at 9-3 on the season.

After a scoreless first inning, B-G went up 1-0 on Jaxson McGraw's two-out RBI single

The Bobcats extended its lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the third on an error.

However, Deposit-Hancock scored five unanswered runs within the fourth and fifth innings to take the lead and secured the victory.

B-G outhit the Eagles 6-4 with Parker Buttice, Connor Davy, Anthony Cafasso, Aidan Haynes, Davis Barnard, and Jaxson McGraw each having a hit in the loss.

Connor Davy stole three bases to lead the team and pitched four and a third innings on the mound.

Davy allowed five earned runs on four hits, four walks, and struck out five batters.

Anthony Cafasso worked two and a third scoreless innings, allowing two walks and four strikeouts and Aidan Haynes got the final out in the seventh.

B-G (9-3) heads to face Walton/Downsville on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
