NHS baseball hangs on to defeat Forks

CHENANGO FORKS—The Norwich Purple Tornado baseball team traveled to take on Chenango Forks on Wednesday night. Norwich won its third game in a row with a 4-2 victory.

Norwich took an early 3-0 lead in the first as Joey Parker and Connor White both reached on a dropped third strike. Parker scored during White's at-bat after advancing on a passed ball and wild pitch.

White scored on a wild pitch and Zack Parker, who singled, scored on Zac Turner's groundout RBI.

Norwich extended its lead in the top of the fourth inning as White hit an RBI double.

Chenango Forks scored one run in the bottom of the fourth and one more in the bottom of the sixth as Norwich held them to secure the victory.

Connor White led the team with two hits and an RBI as Joey Parker, Zack Parker, and Owen Olds all had one hit.

Carmine Pastore pitched a complete game, allowing two unearned runs on two hits, two walks, and struck out seven batters in the win.

Norwich (5-9) heads to Johnson City on Friday at 5 p.m.
