OXFORD - Husband-and-wife duo Veronneau will perform a special “Blue Tapestry” show featuring songs of Joni Mitchell and Carole King on Mother’s Day eve at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 9.

Quebecoise vocalist Lynn Veronneau and British guitarist Ken Avis play off one another to share music that is spirited, jazzy, retro and soulful. They have built a devoted following at international festivals, legendary clubs and intimate theaters in Spain, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Sweden, the U.K., the U.S. and Canada.

​Veronneau has earned seven WAMMIE awards for best vocals, band and recording artists in the D.C., Maryland and Virginia region. Since releasing their 2011 debut album “Joie De Vivre/Joy of Living” (which includes their hit “La Mer,” streamed over a million times on Spotify), they have released four Top 10 charting studio albums that have featured in U.S. Top 10 charts for jazz, world and folk music.

In recent years, they have been artists-in-residence at the legendary Blues Alley in Washington, D.C., and have performed alongside Samara Joy, Gregory Porter, Livingston Taylor and John McCutcheon on festival stages.

Most recently, their “Blue Tapestry” album celebrating Mitchell and King has been a hit on folk and jazz radio, and the accompanying live show presenting the album in songs and stories has received rave reviews.

Open Mic Night

Get the chance to perform on our stage at 6OTS’s Open Mic Night.

The next Open Mic Night is scheduled for Thursday, June 4. Sign-in begins at 6:45 p.m. with performances starting at 7 p.m.. Musicians and poets are encouraged to share their talents. Organizer Ray Stark will act as emcee.
