B-G softball shuts out W/D in big win

DOWNSVILLE— The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball team traveled to take on Walton/Downsville on Thursday, returning home with a big 17-0 shutout victory.

B-G piled up its runs in the first four innings, including a game-high six runs in the first inning and held the Crush to just two hits on the day.

The Bobcats scored 17 runs on 10 hits with Abbagayle Fitzgerald leading the team with two hits and three RBIs. Breanna Casey had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs while Alessandra Cafasso (double) and Kaylin Furgason (double) also drove in two runs.

Jayslin Henderson drove in a run while Brenna George had a hit, RBI, reached base three times on walks, and scored four runs in the win.

Hope Blackman got the start on the mound for B-G, where she went two innings, allowing just one hit, no walks, and had a strikeout. Kate Baciuska took over in relief, going two innings, allowing just one hit, a walk, and one strikeout. Railey Odell gave up just one walk, and struck out three batters in the one inning pitched.

B-G (8-4) hosts Unatego on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
