B-G baseball defeats W/D with go-ahead runs in the top of the seventh
DOWNSVILLE— The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats baseball team picked up its 10th win of the 2026 season with a 6-4 win over Walton/Downsville. With the game tied at four going into the seventh inning, B-G scored two runs and held the Crush to secure the victory.
Parker Buttice had an infield single with one out in the seventh before scoring on Connor Davy’s two-run homer to left field, which would be the game-winner as Brayden Swartwout and the B-G defense closed it out in the bottom of the seventh.
Davy led the team with two hits, including the home run and a triple, and drove in three runs. Parker Buttice had two doubles and reached base on a hit by pitch. Swartwout, Aidan Haynes, and Jaxson McGraw all had singles in the win.
Mason Acquisto got the start on the mound for B-G, where he went two innings, allowing one earned run on one hit, two walks, and struck out four batters.
Aidan Haynes worked three innings in relief, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits, one walk, and three strikeouts. Swartwout got the win as he went two innings, allowing just one hit, a walk, and a strikeout.
B-G (10-3) heads to Unatego on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
