Several people face felony charges following grand jury deliberations
CHENANGO COUNTY - A Chenango County grand jury has indicted four defendants on felony charges in separate cases involving possession of child pornography, weapons, forged currency, and drugs, according to the Chenango County District Attorney’s Office.
The office recently presented several serious cases on May 6.
At grand jury proceedings, the district attorney’s office presents evidence against those they wish to prosecute and the jury decides if there is enough reasonable cause to charge a person with a crime. It is not a conviction, and defendants will appear in Chenango County court at a later date to enter a plea.
Donald G. Lockwood was indicted on two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, class D felonies; possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony; and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
Prosecutors allege that on Dec. 12, 2025, in the Village of Afton, Lockwood possessed a PMAG 30-round magazine containing 30 rounds of .223-caliber ammunition at 48 South Main St. The indictment also alleges Lockwood possessed child pornography on a personal computer and had methamphetamine.
