Earlville Conservation Club recognizes youth hunters as part of 4th annual hunt

EARLVILLE - The Earlville Conservation Club’s 4th Annual Youth Turkey Hunting Contest was a success. This year it was held on April 25 and 26.
There were six youth hunters; 12-15 years old, who ventured out with their trusted mentors and shared the success of their hunt with us. Each youth was presented with an ECC youth club membership and a prize. Special prizes were awarded to Mykah Stowell for the heaviest turkey [22lbs] and to Karter Rhoads for the Lucky turkey. Below are details of each successful youth and their turkey.
Congratulations to all the mighty hunters, listed with thier trophies:
Mykah Stowell: 22lbs 1 oz, 8 2/3” beard.
Lucas Wimmer: 20lbs 14 oz, 9” beard, 1 1/8” spurs.
Karter Rhoads: 19lbs 1 oz, 8” beard.
Jake Beers: 18lbs 17 oz, 9” beard.
Maranda Schmidt: 17lbs 10 oz, 9”, 7/8” spurs.
Nolan Sigman- 13 1/2 lbs 4 1/8” beard, 1/4” spur.
The Earlville Conservation Club is in the middle of their 4th Annual Member Turkey Hunt.
Those prepaid and sign up before May 1 will need to contact: Sam Walrod: [315]663-6589, Art Fleming: [607]244-8125, or Andy Migonis: 315-527-0113 to report/send text of their turkey with a picture, the weight, measurement of beard and spurs, honor system will be employed. Remember the season ends May 31 with hunting hours being half hour before sunrise to noon.
The Earlville Conservation Club supports conservation, healthy environment development and sportsman interest and conduct. We have really worked to build more opportunities for the youth to become involved in this as well.
Our next youth event will be our 10th Annual Youth Fishing Derby on August 30 at 220 Arrowhead Acres, Smyrna, NY.
We typically meet on the 1st Wednesday of the month at Many Maples Farm, 697 State Highway 26, Georgetown, NY 13072 at 6 p.m.. All are welcome to attend.
