B-G softball attempts late rally; falls to D-H in MAC Championship game

DEPOSIT— After defeating Afton in the MAC semifinals, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball team reached the 2026 MAC Championship game to only face foes Deposit-Hancock, who were looking for a three-peat. After being down 4-0 through three innings, the Bobcats got on the board in the top of the fourth and added four runs in the top of the fifth to attempt a late rally, but fell 10-5 overall.

On one out in the top of the fourth, Alessandra Cafasso doubled to left field, advanced to third on an error, and scored on Tori Suda’s groundout RBI to shortstop.

B-G had two runners in scoring position on an error and a hit by pitch in the top of the fifth inning with one out before a fielder’s choice RBI bunt by Brenna George brought in a run.

Cafasso singled to bring in a run while Suda had yet another RBI in the fifth as well.

Cafasso worked six complete innings on the mound, allowing 10 runs (three earned) on eight hits, a walk, and three strikeouts in the loss.

B-G awaits sectionals.
