SHERBURNE— Sherburne-Earlville class of 2024 alum Haleigh Fisher finished her second season at Caldwell University in New Jersey. Fisher, who signed a letter of intent in the Winter of 2023, pitched for the Cougars softball team, where she set many milestones this season alone.
The Caldwell Cougars softball team was ranked number one overall throughout the regular season, where the ladies advanced to the CACC tournament championship, and even earned a spot in the NCAA regional tournament.
The Cougars finished 29-21 this season, where Fisher pitched 118.2 innings and finished with a ERA of a 2.60 and also accomplished 100 career collegiate strikeouts, three shutouts, and 10 complete games with a 11-5 record.
During her time at S-E, Fisher pitched for both the S-E and Unadilla Valley varsity softball teams, where she accomplished 100 career strikeouts, and helped lead the Storm to sectionals in 2023. She was able to pitch for S-E in her final season, where she had 255 strikeouts, three immaculate innings, and four no-hitters. Fisher also reached 500 career high school strikeouts from her time on S-E and UV.
After recently finishing her sophomore year at Caldwell, where Fisher is studying Biology and Psychology, she earned several honors after the softball season.
“On a personal level, I was honored to be named CACC Pitcher of the Year, earn All-CACC Conference honors, be selected to the Academic All-District Team, and receive D2 CCA and NFCA All-East Region recognition,” Fisher said.
No matter how far her softball career takes her, she always makes time to give back to the S-E community.
“When I'm home, I love staying involved with the local softball community,” Fisher said. “ I enjoy supporting the Sherburne Area Little League program, attending modified, JV, and varsity games, and helping out at practices whenever I can. Giving back to the sport that has given me so much is something I truly enjoy.”
As Fisher looks to enjoy her time off, she continues to work with the youth and inspire many young athletes.
“My hope is to share my passion for softball and encourage young athletes to believe in themselves, work hard, and pursue their goals,” Fisher added.
Congratulations, Haleigh!
