NORWICH — Registration is open for Chenango County’s third annual Pickleball Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, June 13, at the Weiler Park pickleball courts, 33 Borden Ave. in Norwich.
The tournament, which was started in 2023 in downtown Norwich, was moved to the new courts last summer in August. The date was changed to early June this year to open the show for more participants in the fastest growing sport in America.
The tournament will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will include women’s, men’s and mixed doubles divisions. Players may register at beginner, intermediate or advanced levels.
The cost is $50 per team, and each team is guaranteed three games.
Registration is limited to 100 teams.
“We are expecting 50 teams but we would love to have 100,” said Commerce Chenango’s Communications Director Sophia Root.
The registration deadline is fast approaching on Monday, June 8.
The event is presented by Chenango Chamber Tourism and Economic Development, with presenting sponsors Pennysaver, Impact Marketing Concepts and Excellus BlueCross BlueShield.
“Get your teams in when you can,” Root added.
Teams can register through the events calendar at www.commercechenango.com.
