NORWICH — NBT Bank has announced that Florence Doller has been promoted to Chief Communications Officer.

“Florence has shaped the way we communicate as an organization,” said NBT’s Chief Financial Officer Annette Burns. “Her ability to bring clarity to complex work and connect teams through consistent messaging has strengthened how we operate and how we show up in the communities we serve. The growth of our communications function reflects her steady leadership and her commitment to supporting every part of the company.”

Doller joined NBT Bank in 1997 as marketing manager and has held roles of increasing responsibility throughout her career, including leading the combined marketing and communications department until 2016, when a separate communications function was established to support the company’s continued growth. Since then, NBT’s Corporate Communications team has expanded to meet organizational needs and now oversees all organic communications, including news and media relations, social media, employee communications, contributions, thought leadership and corporate events, and stockholder communications.

Doller earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, MI, and holds the Certified Financial Marketing Professional designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers. Active in her community, Doller volunteers with Fostering Futures in Norwich, NY, and is a grief support group facilitator.
