SOUTH KORTRIGHT— On Saturday, July 18, in a close game, the Oxford Blackhawks PONY league baseball team came up just short falling 3-2 to SK/Stam Summer Team. Both teams were great pitching but SK/Stam managed to hold the game at bay to advance to the semifinals.

Bodie Barrows set the tone for Oxford, pitching 5.2 innings, recording 17 outs while allowing 9 hits, three runs, four strikeouts, and two walks. He managed to keep Oxford in the game. Josh Knapp also came on to pitch later.

Oxford managed to score the first run of the game in the first inning that came from stealing home from base running but fell behind 3-1 after one.

Oxford made it 3-2 with a run in the top of the second to stay competitive throughout the game as Knapp scored on a wild pitch. Joey Locke led the team with three out of four hits in the loss.

Oxford finished the 2026 summer season with a 4-7 season and fourth in the A division.
