Pickleball tournament to be held in late August at Weiler Park

NORWICH — After seeing the success of the sport take off in the local community, Debbie Johnson has organized a local ladies pickleball tournament for August 15 at Weiler Park. The event is open to all female players skill levels 2.0 to 3.4 with a minimum of 12 players and a maximum of 16 players. The event will be held August 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The event will cost $5 and the proceeds will go towards the prize money for the winners.

“We are hoping this is the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself, meet amazing women, and have a great time on the court. Our tournament is designed to be welcoming, fun, and encouraging. They will enjoy friendly competition, plenty of games, and the chance to build confidence while making new pickleball friends,” Johnson said. “Step outside your comfort zone, grab your paddle, and sign up—we'd love to have you join us for a couple hours of laughter, camaraderie, and great pickleball.”

The tournament is also open to anyone 18 years or older and to register, download the Playtime Scheduler app under the Binghamton section and look for August 15, 2026.
