NEW BERLIN— The Unadilla Valley/GMU boys soccer team hosted Morris for the 2026 season opener on Wednesday, coming away with a 5-4 victory under new head coach Cameron Osborne this year.

The game was tied when The Storm’s Julius Smith scored off a long kick from Declan Potter with 40.6 seconds remaining in regulation to take the lead.

Smith finished with two goals and two assists while Dylan Webb also scored two goals. Reed Osborne had one goal as Hunter Barnes and Declan Potter picked up assists.

Goalie Caleb Dix made 10 saves in the close win.

UV/GMU (1-0) hosts Delhi on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
