SHERBURNE— Over Labor Day weekend, the Sherburne-Earlville soccer program hosted the 2026 Nigel Seddon Memorial Cup Tournament. The tournament featured S-E, Greene, Solvay, and Manlius Pebble Hill for the girls and just S-E and Oxford for the boys. The Greene girls defeated both MPH and S-E to win the tournament as Oxford boys won over S-E on Saturday.

Friday’s Games:

Greene 10- MPH 1

In the Section IV/III matchup, Greene had a strong offensive day with three goals/ hat tricks by both Hailey Butler and Miah Cragle. Ali Fisher, Caitlin Walls (on defense), Lexi Cloyd, and Ella Beach also scored while Fisher and Butler both had two assists.

S-E 3 - Solvay 0

The Timberwolves, merged with OV this season, shut out Solvay 3-0 with two goals in the first half. Kimmy Blanco assisted Kadyn Babcock’s goal on a corner kick while Kinsley Babcock scored on a pass from Lydia Dulina. Blanco scored in the second half.

Saturday’s Games:

Greene 8 - S-E 0

Greene capped off a strong offensive weekend with a shutout victory over S-E in the title game. Ella Beach scored a hat trick with three goals while Butler scored twice. Caitlin Walls, Chenoa Corson, and Miah Cragle each scored goals with Ali Fisher picking up three assists. Corson also had two assists in the win.

Ella Beach, Ali Fisher, Miah Cragle, and Hailey Butler (MVP) were named tournament all-stars for Greene. Emma Reinhart, Kimmy Blanco, and Laila Babcock earned all-star recognition for S-E.

Oxford 3 - S-E 0

On a damp night, Oxford played S-E in the first game of the 2026 season. It was S-E’s second game, falling to Waterville on Friday night. S-E is also merged with Otselic Valley this season.

Oxford’s Joey Locke scored twice and Gordon Smith scored once with Dawson Viele with the assist.

Dawson Viele, Paxton LaMonica, Gordon Smith, Liam Phillippone, Adam Beckwith, and Joey Locke (MVP) earned tournament all-star honors for Oxford while Tommy Kenyon, Hudson Schwartz-Pumilio, Colin Pudney, Brooks Lagoe, and Matthew Morgan earned honors for S-E.
