SHERBURNE— The Oxford and UV/GMU golf teams faced off in a MAC league matchup at Mountain Top on Thursday afternoon, where both teams played well in a close match. Oxford came away with a tight 231-236 victory.

Oxford’s Clayton Carlson and Kevin Northup both shot 40s on the par 35 course. Uri Tracy followed with a 41 as Alex Whyte shot a 50 and Cooper Canaday with a 60. Ethan Trombley finished as the team’s sixth golfer.

UV/GMU was led by Carter Simonds, who shot an all around low of a 39. Evan Hill had a 46 while Urijah Drake shot a 48 and Gavin Underwood with a 49. Paul Ruffles shot a 54 with Blake Lawrence as the team’s sixth golfer.

Oxford (3-3) heads to Delhi this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. while UV/GMU (0-6) heads to B-G Monday at 4 p.m.
